The powers and duties of its officers and employees

Indian Institute of Oil Palm Research is headed by the Director, who looks after the management of research and administration of the institute.One Administrative Officer and One Assistant Administrative Officer assist him at the headquarters. They are assisted by administrative staff belonging to different categories such as Assistants, Clerks. The administrative wing is organized in Establishment, Bills and Stores.The Director is assisted by an Assistant Finance & Accounts Officer for financial matters. The Research Centre is headed by Scientist-In-Charge who has been declared as the Head of Office and Drawing and Disbursing Officer.He has also been provided with adequate clerical and stenographic support, wherever found necessary.Research in different disciplines are carried out by eighteen scientists including headquarters and research centre.

The procedure followed in the decision making process, including channels of supervision and accountability

The Director is assisted by the IRC Secretary to monitor the research progress in Institute Research Committee. Besides, there are Study Circle Meetings conducted frequently. The Research Advisory Committee refines and recommends research activities. Institute is also monitored by Institute Management Committee and Quinquennial Review Team which are constituted by ICAR, New Delhi. Institute budget is presented and sanction obtained from the five year plans of Govt. of India. Institute Joint Staff Council takes care of problems of the staff.

Office Timings :

The institute is open on all working days from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a lunch break from 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
